Play for today: Love S/S 2012

soo, the most wanted editorial from latest Love magazine. I actually like s/s issue. Solve Sundsbo editorial is huge and quite breathtaking (thanks God, no plastic, no over-photoshopping "art" and no studio shots)
This is the first experience for Walker and Kristen collaboration, as well as for Tim working in Love magazine (and with Katie). Great settings, and great choice of models, i must say, the editorial overall puts me off, and that`s the sought after effect in that shoot. I don`t know, how it was for you, but in my childhood i`ve heard only scary tales. Actually, i think the true fairytale as a part of folk is always scary (Grimm brothers anyone?)

Play for today: Love S/S 2012 magazine

New fresh Love magazine from Conde Nast and Kt Grand. Terry makes Linda looks as every other woman. No make-up, same exotropia as Katie Moss got. (yeah, that`s indeed wonderfully strange, how can that actually non-cosmetic defect do not cramp a career of a supermodel? maybe the secret is in being wife of elite model agency executive Gerald Marie in the right moment?) either way, enjoy!

Play for today: Paolo Roversi

as all my contributionы for today, i haven`t seen this story scanned yet, so i improve this unfortunate unpleasantness. Photosession in fanciful,  whimsical and daedal outfits combined by infamous Nicoletta who was working with Avedon and Lindbergh lately. now she contributes to vogue china on regular basis. You can observe the harvest of her creative work under the cut.

Play for today: Paolo Roversi

here is one of his archive stuff. Haven`t ever seen it and i have to say, what i quite like some shots. Esp the one with giant Polka dots, However, i prefer Roversi outdoor and location shoots more than simple studio stuff (i can say this conserning each and every photographer`s work, maybe because it bring kind of atmosphere and made shots more inspiring and special. I don`t know), but it`s very indistinctive for Roversi, so today i won`t make your day with his location shoots. Only studio). Speaking about Vincent Darre (not a usual figure here, so have to introduce him: Vincent Darré is fashion’s favorite wunderkind, who has, with equal talent, designed sets for the legendary Argentinian theater director Alfredo Arias, contributed to Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris, served as artistic director for Emanuel Ungaro and Moschino. For his latest achievement;Maison Darré, in Paris, he presents furniture designed by himself and his artist friends. ( italic txt from anothermag.com )

i was very happy when i see Saskia feauture in this editorial. I am not really fond of Roversi, but if he loves Saskia- i luv him) Usual masculine and androginy stuff worn by "dark and dangerous" models with tough feautures. And i simply love striped suiting cloth in modern interpretation. JPG vibe!

this is the secound co-working expirience with Hedi for Karmen Pedaru & 4th for Melanie, if i am not wrong. I hate the hairstyle, totally. The shots overall reminds me of Solve Sundsbo work (dancing shadows from louver) some times in Numero and once in Dazed. Hedi shanging his style. I am not really fond of these `innovations`, but it is good what he`s moving forward and not stuck in one place.

I am not quite sure if that`s all raquel, because on the secound pic she`s looking like Irina Lazareanu, on 4th- like Karen O and on 6th and 7th- i even don`t know like who, but def. not like Raquel, althrough, everything is possible. Here we are seeing kind of mix between Babyshambles, Patti Smith, Alison Mosshart from the Kills. It is classic Alt/Sims stuff. I like only outdoor shoots (2) and the one on red background, because it is so Sims.

Play for today: Exclusive december 2011/january 2012 Vogue Paris

This story reminds pretty much recent Terry work with Marie Chaix and Poly for a previous VP issue. It is supposed to be a reminiscence for all these countless musical movies about dancers (flashdance, Alan Parker`s Fame and much more) I don`t think Sasha is a good choise, because of her body (which stays in debility, absolutely untoned) and because i am just fed up seeing same old models in Vogue Paris. Everyone complained about it even in Carine `s era (and Carine actually gave green-light to new faces and often discovered `em like it happened to Lara, Daphne, Saskia), but it turned into real desaster under Emmanuelle, who`s just lacking an imagination and inspiration or just affraid to risk. So now i have an impression what same girls was in VP thanks to Emmanuelle (let`s not forget, what her opinion was a force even when Carine was the chief)

Play for today: Exclusive Vogue Paris december 2011/january 2012

As always, i am sharing with you so much anticipated advanced copy of Vogue paris (it comes out 5th december, a week later when it was announced, futhermore official sale in France usually starts 25th, this month it supposed to be 29th). Here comes my detailed review. Kate Moss cover without inside editorial. Yes, maybe i am fashion soothsayer, because i forcasted what fast or slow but Vogue Paris turned into the magazine in pre-Roitfeld condition (joan Juliet Buck latest years) when famous and A-level contributors didn`t accept an invitation to work for that edition. That way (expensive cover without ed inside) was very often practised back in 1997-2000. I think the reason was lack of money, because cover gives a ton to the whole publication and you should spend more money on it, even if the content would be bland as hell.

Concerning following photoshoot: it is the best one out of all the issue, imo (Half a loaf is better than no bread), because there`s simply no better option... Arizona in quite tasteless white/golden snazzy outfits.

Play for today: Saskia, my fav

So, here is a first couture expirience for V magazine and first Joanne Blades contribution for that magazine. A while ago Joanne was very successful fashion editor @ one of my fav mag- Dutch. I am assuming, what here is a couple of out-takes. V # 74 is a model issue, fully dedicated to the rising stars of modeling business. 4 different covers photographed by Terry and styled by Carine, including Saskia on one of them. Plus 2 previews from expectative releases: Dior haute couture book by Patrick Demarchelier & Chanel Boucle jacket book all styled by Carine Roitfeld and both of them featuring Saskia <3
